Terms of Service

Last updated: September 9, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using setlist.id, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. setlist.id is operated by Skylight Studio LLC.

2. The Service

setlist.id is a track identification service. You submit a URL pointing to audio or video content hosted on a supported third-party platform. We extract and analyze the audio using audio fingerprinting technology to produce a timestamped list of identified tracks. Results are delivered when processing completes.

Account creation is open to anyone with a valid email address. A promo code is optional and, when redeemed from your account page after registering, grants bonus sets to your account.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide an accurate email address at registration. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

The service is sold as a monthly subscription metered in sets. One set unlocks the processing of one submitted mix; mixes longer than 4 hours count as 2 sets, disclosed before processing begins. Each plan includes a fixed number of sets per billing cycle, which resets at the start of each cycle and does not roll over. A set is deducted when processing begins.

New subscriptions begin with a free trial as described at checkout; a valid payment method is required and the first charge occurs when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. You may cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your plan at any time from the billing page in the app, and update your payment method at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial-period refunds are given. If a processing job fails due to a service error on our side, the sets consumed by that job are automatically credited back to your account. Bonus sets granted by us (including converted legacy token balances) have no cash value and cannot be refunded, transferred, or exchanged.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

5. Permitted Use

You may use setlist.id only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Submit URLs to content you do not have the right to analyze.
  • Use the service to infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Attempt to circumvent access controls, reverse engineer, or scrape the service.
  • Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or overburden our systems.
  • Resell or redistribute service output commercially without our written permission.

6. Third-Party Content

setlist.id processes audio from third-party platforms based on URLs you provide. We do not host, store, or distribute the underlying audio content. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of those platforms and any content you submit for analysis complies with the terms of those platforms and applicable copyright law.

Where a mix can be played back on setlist.id, it plays in the platform's own embedded player, streamed from the platform and never from us. setlist.id uses YouTube API Services to provide that player. By using setlist.id you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and information collected by that player is handled under the Google Privacy Policy. Playback from other platforms uses each platform's own embedded player under its own terms.

Artist and tracklist pages on setlist.id are unofficial. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any artist, DJ, uploader, label or platform named on them, and naming one is a reference to whose recording was analyzed, not a claim of any connection. Cover artwork and mix thumbnails shown alongside results are served by the platform or music service that hosts them and remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Recognition and Music Data

Track identification on setlist.id runs on our own recognition system. It is what breaks a set into segments, decides what to test and when, judges which candidate matches to believe, and assembles the timestamped tracklist you receive. That system is the service you are paying for.

Where our own matching cannot resolve a passage on its own, it draws on third-party recognition services to supplement the result. ACRCloud is one of those services, and its terms require us to say so here:

Music Recognition byACRCloud

ACRCloud describes itself as follows:

“ACRCloud utilises patented Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) technology to enable the generation of a unique real-time fingerprint to identify in a matter of seconds, the content being played via an audio or video source which is typically a first screen, in order to trigger an action. With proprietary audio identification technology, ACRCloud's is able to identify millions of hours of content in both a manageable and efficient manner that is highly relevant for advertisers, broadcasters, video streaming providers, music services, consumer electronics manufacturers and app developers. ACR's fingerprint library includes 100 million audio tracks, which is one of the biggest in the world.”

A finished tracklist also carries metadata, cover art and streaming links drawn from several music services. Each is credited where it appears: when a track is matched on one of these services, the result carries that service's own mark, linked to the track on that service.

  • Apple Music and ShazamKit: Apple's ShazamKit is another of the services our system calls on, and where a recording it returns is available on Apple Music the result links to it there. We do not use ShazamKit results to build or improve any other recognition service, and setlist.id is not offered for music licensing, royalty auditing or any other compliance purpose.
  • Spotify: track metadata and cover art supplied by Spotify appear with the Spotify mark and a link back to the track on Spotify.
  • SoundCloud: where a mix or track comes from SoundCloud, the uploader is credited as its creator, SoundCloud is credited as the source, and the page links back to the sound on soundcloud.com.
  • Deezer, Beatport and the Cover Art Archive: cover art, release details and purchase links come from these sources and are linked back to them in the same way.

Those services are independent third parties. Naming one, or showing its mark beside a track, identifies where the data came from and is not a claim of any affiliation with or endorsement by it. Cover artwork remains the property of its owner and is served by the service that hosts it.

ACRCloud is an independent third party and is not affiliated with Skylight Studio LLC beyond supplying one of the services our system draws on. What is sent to them, and what we keep afterwards, is set out in our Privacy Policy. Their own handling of it is governed by the ACRCloud Privacy Policy.

If you believe material was removed in error you may send a counter-notice to the same agent.

Repeat infringers. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly submit material that infringes the rights of others. Submitting a URL you have no right to analyze, after being told so, is grounds for termination without refund.

9. Intellectual Property

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

setlist.id is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that identification results will be accurate, complete, or error-free. Track recognition accuracy depends on source material quality, mix complexity, and track availability in the recognition database.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skylight Studio LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
