Find the song in a SoundCloud track or mix

Someone in the comments asking "ID?" at 47:12, or a track with a title that tells you nothing? Paste the SoundCloud link. We name every song in it, with the time it starts and ends.

Answer the "ID?" comment

On SoundCloud, comments sit on the waveform at the moment they were posted. Paste the link here, then find the song that starts just before the comment's time.

Say someone asked at 6:10 on DJ PHYSICAL's Boiler Room set in Paris. In the full tracklist, Primordial by Phasmid comes in at 5:53 and mixes out at 9:42, so that's the answer. Here's how the set opens:

Just one track, not a mix?

That works too. If it's a re-upload with a vague title, or a track in someone's likes with no artist named, you get the artist, the title, the label and the release date, as long as the record has been released.

An edit or bootleg that was never released has nothing to match, so it shows up as a gap with the times it starts and stops. For long mixes, there's more on the SoundCloud mix tracklist page.

SoundCloud questions

Can I find the song in a SoundCloud repost?

Yes. A repost is just the original upload shared again, so open the original and paste its link.

Does a private SoundCloud link stay private?

Yes. We use it to identify the songs, and a tracklist from a private link is never published on setlist.id.

How long does a three-hour mix take, and what does it cost?

Under fifteen minutes, since an hour of audio takes under five. It costs three hours, and you get the time back for any part we can't name.

What do I get besides the song name?

When each song starts and ends, the label and release date where we know them, BPM and key, and links to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, Deezer or Beatport, wherever it's released. You can copy the list or save it as a text file.

Do I need a SoundCloud account?

No. If the track plays for someone who isn't signed in to SoundCloud, it works.

Is pasting a link free?

Yes. You see the quote before anything is charged. Naming the songs uses the upload's length in hours (with a 15-minute minimum), a bundle starts at 5 hours for $6, and unused hours stay on your account.
